Fierce row over resuscitation

A row has broken out over whether ailing patient RESPECT should be resuscitated. A spokesman for the patients' group Dignity in Dying said it was time for George Galloway to let go. "Unnecessarily resuscitating a patient in the last weeks of their life can often prolong suffering," he said. Not everyone agrees. Socialist Worker Party members are thought to want RESPECT to die writhing in prolonged and tortured agony, broken, convulsing around on the floor like a demented fish.

Galloway: my Saddam shame

George Galloway MP, has shocked his supporters by revealing that he personally took no bribes at all from Saddam Hussein during the 1990s. Galloway made the astonishing claim in response to the news today that he faces suspension from the House of Commons for failing to disclose that his Mariam Appeal had received money from the Iraqi government.
"It's true," he said, "all that stuff about saluting Saddam's indefatigability, I meant it. I loved the guy. The fascism, the genocide, the cigar, the moustache. I said it for free. Sure the Mariam Appeal got a few quid but me, didn't take a bean. I'm so sorry."
A member of Respect, Galloway's party, said, "I'm horrified. I presumed all the fawning and scraping before Saddam and his psychotic sons was because he was on the take."
Galloway is believed also to be in receipt of no money at all from President Assad of Syria in return for recent fulsome praise.

Respect Party not aware of terror attacks, claims to have been under the weather

A spokesman for Respect has apologised for the failure to condemn last week's terror attacks in London and Glasgow on the party's official website, claiming that they had not been aware of the attempted bombings. "To be honest, we've all had a touch of flu," he said. Asked why party leader George Galloway has not referred to the events on his website either, the spokesman added, "George has not had time to update his site as he has been exceptionally busy admiring his new salt-and-pepper beard."

Galloway dismisses new "smear"

George Galloway last night criticised a Charity Commission report which says that the Respect MP's campaign against Iraq sanctions was bankrolled using aid diverted by Saddam Hussein’s regime and that the MP may have known about the illicit funding. "It's a complete and utter lie," said the politician's spokesman. "George treats the commission with contempt. This is just another smear campaign designed purely to prompt the publication of stupid photographs," he said.

In a surprise move ITV is reviving high-profile flop Celebrity Wrestling in an attempt to revitalise viewing figures. The show was dropped from primetime schedules in 2005 after poor ratings, but ITV bosses are hoping that the new-look show, in which figures from the political world will train and fight each other, will attract the public's interest this time around. The first episode, which is expected to feature a team comprising anti war figures Noam Chomsky, Harold Pinter and George Galloway taking on the writers David Aaronovitch, Nick Cohen and Christopher Hitchens, will be broadcast on Saturday 24th February.

Galloway calls for Saddam return

Respect MP George Galloway has made a dramatic call for the late Saddam Hussein to be returned to power in Iraq, claiming that the only way to restore order to the country is to reinstate the dead former dictator. Mr Galloway, who may be further investigated for accepting money from Saddam to pay for his political campaigning, said: "The man was a colossal leader and I believe it is only right that the imperialist forces immediately withdraw and allow him to once again unite the Iraqi people." Saddam Hussein was executed in December last year having been found guilty of crimes against humanity.
