Queen broke shock

The Queen is so strapped for cash she plans to set up premium rate 'Dial-a-Royal' phone lines to boost her coffers. Phone companies fear they will collapse under the strain of demand and a busy operator reported that the most popular question was likely to be "how much for your corgis?" Prince Philip, likely to be besieged by S & M fetishists begging to be abused, is not taking part. Al Fayed's number is barred.

Diana inquest verdict: murdered by Prince Philip*

The inquest into the death of Princess Diana has delivered the widely-anticipated verdict that a pregnant Princess Diana and her fiance Dodi Fayed were murdered by MI6 under the instructions of Prince Philip. The jury found that the Royal Family, incensed by the prospect of a Muslim stepfather to the future King of Great Britain, instructed MI6 to assassinate the couple. MI6 carried out the murder, utilising a strobe light in the Alma Tunnel in Paris, with a secret agent driving a white Fiat Uno into the couple's Mercedes limousine. Police said they would now arrest Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and other senior members of the Royal Family and charge them with murder. Until the extent of the knowledge of the Royal conspiracy can be known, a Regent will be appointed as Head of State. MI6 will be disbanded and the entire Government will be arrested.

Pupils should kneel before Zod

School pupils should "kneel before Zod" to encourage feelings of belonging and citizenship, recently retired attorney general Lex Luthor told the BBC's Today programme. Bowing before the exiled Kryptonian supervillain would foster a sense of communal pride and citizenship, says Luthor. Critics say that General Zod is a poor symbol on which to base a national unity drive. "As an unelected alien overlord with superpowers, Zod does not represent the experience of the majority of UK citizens," says Labour peer Baroness Kennedy. But Luthor believes that Zod — who has been a merciless oppressor since being accidentally freed from his deep-space Phantom Zone prison — can be a unifying force in UK national life. "I mean, it's no less ridiculous than pledging allegiance to a hereditary monarch from a German background."

Newspapers deny fawning over Harry

Newspaper editors have rejected suggestions that the coverage of Prince Harry's daring desert escapades has been nothing more than grovelling PR for the Royal Family. The soldier prince's war came to an abrupt end after he was dramatically pulled out of Afghanistan when his cover was blown, but papers deny that their coverage has been overly fawning. "Prince Harry is an ordinary soldier who is prepared to die for the country he doesn't much like," says News of the World editor Colin Myler, who claims the coverage has been balanced. "For security reasons for instance we have agreed not to report on Harry's one man mission during which he single-handedly rescued hundreds of prisoners of war from captivity before heroically commandeering a tank and colliding it into a helicopter killing the enemy commander."

Diana considered marrying Khan

The inquest into the death of Princess Diana has heard how she had considered marriage to Khan Noonien Singh, a genetically engineered tyrant from the late 20th century. Diana's former butler Paul Burrell told the inquest that the Royal household was very opposed to the Princess of Wales marrying the noted mass murderer and long-time nemesis of USS Enterprise captain James T Kirk. Friends had also counselled Diana against a union with Khan, the latest in a string of apparently unsuitable suitors for the princess, because he had shown little remorse over his use of torture and genocide in the Eugenics Wars. But Diana told them that it was still better than being married to Prince Charles. "From Hell's heart, I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee," the Duke of Edinburgh told reporters.

Prince Harry keeps downed birds in mini-Stalag Luft camp

Prince Harry has been shooting down birds that stray into airspace over the royal Sandringham estate in Norfolk and keeping them in a miniature Stalag Luft camp, similar to those run by the German Luftwaffe during World War II. "We are very much alike, you and I," Prince Harry told a captured wood pigeon. "Perhaps, if circumstances were different, I could have called you friend." Several birds are reported to be secretly working on a tunnel beneath the exercise yard, and hope to be back in the wild by Christmas.

Al Fayed fury at inquest witness ruling

Lawyers for Mohamed Al Fayed have failed in a bid to summons a seven foot tall blood-drinking reptilian from the star system Alpha Draconis to court to give evidence at the inquest into the death of Al Fayed's son Dodi and Diana Princess of Wales. Speaking yesterday after acting deputy coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker refused the application Mr Al Fayed said, "I'm certain of what happened. I know they were murdered. I will not rest until we find the shapeshifting Royal Family lizards who took the life of these two innocent people."

Queen in shock Rushdie beheading

The furore surrounding the knighthood awarded to Salman Rushdie took a shocking turn today at an early private investiture at Buckingham Palace. Stung by criticisms at home and abroad that the award was insensitive to Muslims, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II decided to take matters into her own hands and restore Britain's honour.
With Rushdie kneeling on the knighting-stool in front of the Queen, equerries and ladies-in-waiting watched stunned as Her Majesty sliced Rushdie's head off his shoulders with her ceremonial sword, screaming, "God is great! Death to apostates!" The Queen then ordered a video of the execution to be sent to Al Jazeera.
Pakistan's Religious Affairs minister, who previously warned of suicide bombings following the award, said in response to the execution, "A woman beheading an apostate? Blasphemy! Boy, are you going to be sorry now."

Cameron's Royal connection played down

The Royal Family today moved to distance itself from David Cameron after newspaper revelations that the Conservative Party leader is a direct descendant of Charles II. Cameron is also William IV's great-great-great-great-great grandson, which makes him fifth cousin, twice removed, of the Queen, but a spokesman for the Royal Family played down the aristocratic connection. "The Royals are a hardworking family, doing their best for the ordinary people of Britain." he said. "They have no desire whatsoever to be associated with this unctuous little toff," he added.

Diana: Inquest jury to be shown unseen film

The jury at the inquest into the death of Diana, Princess of Wales is to be shown previously unseen footage of the crash which killed her. Mohammed Al-Fayed, father of Dodi Al-Fayed who was killed alongside Diana, says the film proves their deaths were no accident. It is thought that the film shows British secret service agents chatting with members of the Illuminati in the tunnel below the Pont de l'Alma moments before the crash while several Elders of Zion look on. After the crash Prince Charles and Prince Philip are seen goose stepping away from the scene in full Nazi uniform before transforming themselves into giant lizards. A preliminary hearing begins today in the High Court.
